IATI's project has been approved by the Minister of Multiculturalism, the Hon Ray Williams MP and it is sponsored by NSW Government.

The grant is to contribute towards "Enhancing social connectivity through film in nursing homes", specifically targeted to residents of Italian background.

Students of Italian from local high schools will be invited to come and chat with the elderly. This interaction will help the residents maintain the community and be in a better frame of mind.

On 13th June 2019, year 7 students of Holy Spirit College visited Marco Polo nursing home residents in Woonona.

Students had the opportunity to use their conversational skills in a real-life setting.
